"When I think about what I've gained from this program is that I really liked the class known as "Alpha" and I feel like I gained some good tool's from it to put in my spiritual tool belt. But I know what will stick with me and be with me the rest of my life is how the founder of this program (Mrs. Nicole Murdaugh) came into this prison with an open and caring heart, wanting to help us men grow and receive peace and joy. One of the top things that sticks out is my "Prayer Board" which I use and reflect on daily. I plan on making one out of cedar when I get out and use it to continue to put my prayers on it. I know that God preordained Mrs. Nicole (and this program) to come to this prison and shine the light of Jesus. But the turning moment was the week at the end of class we were given our homework; which was to act and treat others as you would want to be treated, which was the "Golden Rule Challenge." Then on Tuesday morning I was reading the chapter we are on for our daily "S.O.A.P.S." when I got to Matthew 7:12 (The Golden Rule), which says, 'In everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you.' Instantly a light bulb came on and blew my mind- God preordained this all to line up before the foundation of this world."

"Before entering this program I truly didn't know my worth as a man. During my time spent through Prison Legacy Foundation, I started first understanding my self worth and how to be a person of understanding. This program showed me who Jesus is and that I had to have Him in my life in order to even understand life. I learned a new way of thinking and to get real with myself, making effective apologies and overcoming evil with good! As I stored some of these things in my now hungry heart I started feeding my life with love, compassion, and understanding."

"Here are the most impactful things we did to cause me to change, the "Daily Gratitudes" helped me to begin thinking more positively. "You go in the direction you are focusing on." There's a reason the front windshield is vastly bigger than the rear view mirror of any vehicle. I am now looking more towards the future. I cannot change the past. "The Prayer Board and Prayer Petition" in this  program helped me have Scripture to stand upon as well as seeing the Prayer Board daily kept me more focused. I also grew exponentially from doing the "Words of Affirmation" daily. Stacking all of these together has given me a more positive outlook for the future and for people."

"I found myself leaving our Monday morning class refreshed and with a better insight on mature Christian living. One of the main impacts from this program was the many group discussions that the inmates participated in. Some of the men sharing the painful and quite vulnerable components of their innermost selves. This brings upon a greater fellowship of brothers who come to realize they are not quite as alone as they once thought they were. The reason for Prison Legacy Foundation is to help the inmates/students make leaps in knowledge, emotional maturity, and brotherly bonding all due to. a monumental factor, transformation through Jesus."

"This program has been a God send. The personnel, material, and time donated have come in like a fresh wind and revitalized a group of men fighting for a change in their lives. With the provided material, it shows us a world that hasn't given up on incarcerated individuals. The personnel who come through faithfully show us first hand that we are worth believing in. I've learned so much from this program. It has truly helped me with the process of forgiving others (and myself) along with practicing having patience. I've learned that there's always a season we go through just to receive God's lessons and transformation that make us who we are. I learned and felt God's love.
