Our Why
The "why" for the Prison Legacy Foundation is deeply rooted in the belief that every individual, regardless of their past, deserves the opportunity for transformation, healing, and redemption.

We exist to break the cycles of incarceration by helping incarcerated men and their families discover their true identity in Christ, equipping them with spiritual and personal development tools to rebuild their lives and relationships. We believe in the power of faith, family, and community to restore broken lives, helping men realize that their story doesn’t end in prison, but can be rewritten for a better future—leaving a legacy of hope and renewal for generations to come.

Our "why" is to bring hope to the hopeless, empower individuals to find their purpose, and guide families through the difficult journey of incarceration with faith, love, and transformation at the heart of everything we do.
Our What
At the Prison Legacy Foundation, through our program called Prison Legacy Academy, we provide incarcerated men and their families with a comprehensive faith-based curriculum designed to foster personal and spiritual growth.

Our program centers on:

1) Spiritual Development: We guide participants through a biblical foundation, helping them discover who Jesus Christ is, what the Bible teaches, and how to develop a strong relationship with God. Activities include prayer boards, spiritual gifts discovery, and learning how to live a life centered on faith.

2) Personal Growth: Through tools like the Enneagram and other self-discovery exercises, we help individuals understand their emotional needs, strengths, and weaknesses. We provide lessons on communication, leadership, forgiveness, and leaving a lasting, positive legacy.

3) Family Reconnection: We bridge the gap between incarcerated men and their families by offering parallel programs for both. Families and inmates participate together, learning and growing simultaneously, and discussing weekly topics through phone calls, emails, and visits. This approach strengthens family bonds and prepares both sides for a smoother reintegration.

4) Life Skills: Our program includes practical training, such as resume building, job interview preparation, financial literacy, and goal-setting. We also provide resources for post-incarceration, such as job placement, housing assistance, and more, to help participants successfully transition back into society.

5) Legacy Building: We inspire men and their families to reflect on the impact they want to leave behind. We encourage the creation of a positive legacy, built on integrity, transformation, and purpose that lasts well beyond incarceration.

Through Prison Legacy Academy, we are dedicated to holistic renewal, focusing on the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of both the incarcerated and their families.
